Renata is a partner at Baptista Luz Advogados. From 2015 to 2023, she was a municipal public servant at the Londrina City Hall, where she also held the position of Director of Science and Technology. During her tenure as director, she gained practical experience that led to the development of a methodology to help municipalities develop and implement innovation laws. This methodology has already been applied in six states and more than twenty Brazilian municipalities.

She holds a postdoctoral and doctoral degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of São Paulo (USP), focusing on Data Protection Officers. Her research resulted in the book “Data Protection Officers: Regulation and Civil Liability,” published by Quartier Latin in 2022. She has certifications from the IAPP (CDPO/BR) to act as a Data Protection Officer in Brazil and from Maastricht University (ECBC-B) to act in the European Union.

Renata is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Electoral and Political Law (ABRADEP) and coordinated the book “LGPD vs. Electoral Campaign,” published by Thoth in 2022. Additionally, she has numerous scientific articles published in renowned journals such as the Consumer Law Review, Revista dos Tribunais, and Civil Law Review, and she has contributed chapters to academic books.

In the educational field, she is a Professor in the Professional Master’s Program in Law, Society, and Technology at the Law School of Londrina Colleges. She is also a Guest Professor in the Master’s Program in Business Law at the State University of Londrina (UEL) and in the Graduate Program in Business Law Applied to the Digital Age at UEL.
