B/Luz is one of the leading firms in providing legal advice to impact accelerators, incubators and programs for the promotion of innovation. Our firm has helped structure some of the most important Brazilian accelerators, and also played an active role in structuring some of the government programs to support entrepreneurship, such as the Start-up Brazil program created by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Among the services provided by our firm to such companies, we emphasize the creation of models of investment agreements, monitoring portfolios, providing advice on investments and exit transactions, as well as corporate planning. We also a have strong institutional performance in mentoring and developing educational content, of which we emphasize Startup Farm, one of the main Brazilian accelerators, and Tech Stars – the American accelerator that is responsible for developing entrepreneurial programs, such as Startup Weekend – which we have been supporting for more than 6 years.
Our history is closely linked to the development of angel investments in Brazil. Some of our clients were pioneers in the Brazilian internet industry back in the 1990s, that later became active investors in that market. We provide legal advice on equity and corporate planning, support the investment transactions, and establish exit strategies for the investees. Institutionally, our firm is one of the supporters of Anjos do Brasil, the main Brazilian association for the promotion of investments, through which we have contributed with articles, created the best practices, events and webinars for the sector.
